The 345-BT with S.I.S., for tying masonry to concrete or CMU backup with a flexible (not rigid) connection, is comprised of a Vee Byna- Tie® triangle with wrap-around metal strap.
- 345-BT w/S.I.S. is fitted with a Vee Byna-Tie® in conjunction with the Seismiclip® Interlock System (S.I.S.).
- Horizontal joint reinforcing wire and Vee Byna-Tie® are snapped into the Seismiclip and covered with mortar. This allows wire, tie and anchor to function as a single unit attached to the backup.
- Continuous wire is beneficial for seismic zones or to provide additional protection against problems arising from thermal expansion and contraction. The continuous wire also allows for a more uniform distribution of lateral forces.
